Today we all have pink shoulders and rosy cheeks. Our time outside in the bright sunshine has left an unexpected mark! Yesterday was the hottest day of the year (so far). I can't believe it is only May and its as hot as August.
We have a wood-fired hot tub in our backyard. (It's this one and we can't say enough wonderful things about it.) Pete and I heat it up once or twice a week and soak under the stars. But yesterday the hot tub served its second equally important function: as the Cold Tub Swimming Pool. At a chilly 73 F, the kids (and I) jumped in and splashed, dunked, and laughed our way through the heat of the afternoon. Sage even forgot he wasn't feeling well and lost himself in the silliness with his sister and I.
And today? Thunderstorms and hail. (At least it has cooled off!) I think I'll be using the dryer in the basement today.
