I had a whole day alone yesterday. In my own house. Alone.
In the quiet.
I kicked some serious butt on a house project (I'll share that with you tomorrow), but I thought you might appreciate my lunch:
Homemade hot fudge (ala Bittman's How to Cook Everything),
vanilla ice cream,
and salted cashews. I sat outside in the spring sunshine and smiled my way through the entire bowl. Thank you Pete for this magical gift of a day just for me!

What a wonderful day! Homemade hot fudge, caramel, and ice cream are probably my favorite things ever. Thanks for the inspiration to put my ice cream attachment into the freezer!
wonderful day, wonderful lunch. So happy for your day for yourself (smile).
sigh- i’m envious- i LOVE being in my house alone! how lovely!
As a homeschooling mum I think you totally get it! Alone. At home! Revolutionary.
It was a treat indeed!
*Sweet*! I could use a day, or even a few hours. Or an hour. 😀 Ha.
A whole day alone! I can’t even begin to imagine what I’d do! Congratulations, it looks like you made the most of it with some time for yourself, treats, and a successful home organizing project.
Anna, I know – it was a little disorienting at first. But I figured it out. 🙂 Cant wait to do it again!
