One week in the woods.
Just my kids and me.
We slept by the fire and swam in the river. We hiked in the forest, gathered acorns and the first fall leaves. We hunted for crystals, caught snakes and woolly bears and marveled at eagles. We explored and played, rested and dreamed.
And now we're home.
Oh, how I love coming home.
Because no matter how magical the time away the familiar comfort of home is waiting when we return.
Looks like you had a wonderful time. Oh, the magic of autumn. Welcome home.
I recognize those sandals, my tot has a pair in purple 🙂
We love Soft Stars! These were Sage’s (rejected by Lupine) but she needed sandals for a wedding during the heatwave this summer. I used an x-acto knife and cut off the toes and using glue and glitter added some big sparkly hearts. The rejected shoes became her favorites!
Looks like a magical week away. Welcome back!
Oh so nice to get away like that! I love being in the woods with the kiddos, they see things that our adult eyes too often miss.
They do, don’t they? I would have missed the “fairy house” acorns if Lupine hadn’t shared them with me.
