While most everyone I know who goes on a winter vacation lands on a tropical beach somewhere, the kids and I landed here for our winter break.
Technically it is a beach. So it totally counts for a winter vacation hot spot. (Minus the hot.)
We headed out late last week, going almost as far north as we could get without a passport.
We visited some of the finest folks around, we skied through the northwoods, we ice skated, hiked and explored.
We're still there today in fact, heading home this morning. Back to the farm, the lambs, the hills, and Pete. It's been an epic adventure, but today we're all ready to be home.
Mostly I'm ready for a bath.
After we settle in I'll share some more stories and photos with all of you.
Our vacation hasn't been warm, but it has been amazing!
Love,
Rachel

It looks like you are in the arctic! How fun.
can´t wait to hear more about this trip!
It looks absolutely magical! Thanks so much, Amanda for sharing these beautiful pictures!
I’m sorry, Rachel! Just visited Amanda’s blog 🙂
Who says winter vacations need to be somewhere warm? Sometimes a change in scenery, even if the climate is the same, is all it takes to make it a vacation. Looking forward to hearing all about it. I’m sure you had a blast!
More pictures please!!
Looks like a great expedition! Love that ice picture!
oh wow! i can’t wait to hear more.
Wow! That picture with the ice cave is amazing! Can’t wait to see more (and you are one brave woman to go north during this crazy winter!)
It looks like a fantastic place for a vacation!
