Winter Solstice is here! While we celebrate Christmas with my parents, Pete, the kids and I spend Solstice together as our most important family holiday.
So this morning the gifts are made and tucked beneath the tree while outside the snow is falling deep. My family and I will spend this shortest day of the year making candles and gingerbread houses, baking and eating treats, playing games, and sharing handmade gifts.
I am sending warmth, love, and light into each of your homes this magical day.
Holiday Blessings,
Rachel
Love and light to you and a Happy Solstice!
Our favorite family holiday of this season too. 🙂 Merry Yule!
many blessings to you and family! enjoy your day!
I am curious, do you exchange gifts today or on Christmas?
We do not celebrate CHRISTmas, but we do celebrate christmas if you know what I mean. Maybe it would make more sense for us to celebrate Solstice instead. I struggle with this every year.
Happy Solstice to you and yours!
that moonlit shadow is gorgeous. happy solstice to you, too! 🙂
To you as well, Denise!

Julie,
We do not exchange gifts on Christmas within our immediate family, but rather exchange a few gifts on Solstice. As for Christmas we spend that holiday with my parents so we join in their tradition and bring them gifts (and they give us gifts). Ill share more of our traditions in the coming days. It have become so meaningful and we dont miss the Christmas hub-bub at all.

You too, Sarah!
