Forty.

Today is my 40th birthday.

Forty! I'm planning to spend the day at home with my family – eating great food, boiling maple sap, knitting and sewing, and wondering at what the next forty years might bring.

Forty trips around the sun! Now how did that happen? I swear I'm still 28.

Love,
Rachel

Me too! 28! What’s up with that? Enjoy your day. Love your 40 things list in the first picture. I might have to swipe that idea for every future birthday I have.

Happy Birthday to you! Wishes for many blessings now and in the years to come. Do you feel grown up yet? I always thought “when I’m 30 then I’ll be and feel grown up.” Ahem…going on 34 and still feel like a baby in this world (even though my own babies aren’t babies anymore). Maybe 40 is the time? Peace and love. Heidi

Happiest of birthday wishes. Your blog is such a gift to me. I live in the far North of Canada, and it really helps me to feel less isolated. Your writing is so honest and your voice seems kind.
Thank you for your writing and happy birthday!

Happy birthday beautiful lady! Forty, shmorty, you are still 28 and always will be. You live every day with adventure and excitement for what is new to learn – just with a bit more knowledge. Something we all would have liked at 28 🙂

Happy 40th! 40 was a great year for me. It was about accepting who I am and not trying to improve so much…embracing myself as well as my children.
